Lo de Marcos is a vibrant little fishing village on Mexico’s Pacific coast, about 32 miles north of the Puerto Vallarta airport and 11 miles north of Sayulita. It’s small, walkable, and full of charm — with golden sand, friendly locals, family-run restaurants, and a slower pace that makes it easy to settle in.
Here, life is simple in the best way. Wander unpaved streets, grab tacos from a local spot, browse the tiendas tucked into family homes, or spend the day at the beach swimming, surfing, or just watching the waves roll in. The water is especially welcoming for beginner surfers and anyone who wants to play in the waves without needing to be an expert.
Lo de Marcos offers a quieter alternative to the busier beaches of Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, and San Pancho — still full of energy and colour, but with a more relaxed, local feel. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem… for now.
